About Me
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia, co-supervised by Prof. Bhushan Gopaluni (Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering) and Prof. Fengqi You (AAAS/AIChE/FRSC Fellow) at Cornell University.
I received my Ph.D. (2024) in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of British Columbia, advised by Prof. Bhushan Gopaluni and Prof. Yankai Cao. Before that, I was a Postdoc (2024–2025) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Prof. Richard D. Braatz (Member of the US National Academy of Engineering, IEEE/IFAC/AAAS/AIChE Fellow). I obtained my B.S. and M.S. from Beijing University of Chemical Technology advised by Prof. Youqing Wang, and was a joint M.S. student at the University of Duisburg-Essen with Prof. Steven X. Ding.
My research focuses on trustworthy machine learning and its industrial applications, spanning causal discovery, process monitoring & fault diagnosis, soft sensor modeling, and fault-tolerant control. My work has been applied to refinery digital twins, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, lithium-ion battery management, and smart energy systems.
